Horses have been significant to Niharika’s holistic development not just as a sportsperson but as an individual through the years. Niharika can often be found spending time after school with her horses at Brego and Hector Academy equestrian academy. Starting at the age of eight, ‘Laxmi’, ‘Sunflower’ and ‘Badal’ have been her everlasting companions. Whether it was the thrill of galloping through open fields for the very first time or the serenity of a quiet ride through the practice fields, she was able to find solace and joy in the saddle, making horse riding a passion worth pursuing.

Niharika competed at the Haryana State Level Equestrian Competition in 2022 and received an overall third position in the state and bronze medal for the same. Conducted by Equestrian Sports Academy by the Haryana Sports Equestrian Association and under the aegis of Equestrian Federation of India, this competition included Niharika displaying her skills in show jumping and dressage whilst competing with 50+ riders from across the state as well as the country.

Niharika further strengthened her skills whilst participating at the Ghaziabad Horse Show in 2023.

Niharika continues to regularly train at the Brego and Hector Academy that has helped her emphasise equitation techniques, dressage, stable management and horse healthcare. Her participation at the academy has also led her to strengthen her belief and work towards animal welfare and kindness to horses.
